Today, the certainty of Kaizen offers a better payback and steadier contribution to the bottom line than the uncertainty of innovation. A drop makes an ocean. Islamic Principles subscribe to the concept of Kaizen.
Allah says to Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) in Qur’an [Duha 93:4] And indeed the latter (day) is better for you than the former (day).
Some Hadith (Traditions of the Prophet (S.A.W)) on the topic of Kaizen:
Narrated ‘Aisha: Allah’s Apostle said, “Do good deeds properly, sincerely and moderately and know that your deeds will not make you enter Paradise, and that the most beloved deed to Allah’s is the most regular and constant even though it were little.” (Book #76, Hadith #471)
Narrated ‘Aisha: The Prophet was asked, “What deeds are loved most by Allah?” He said, “The most regular constant deeds even though they may be few.” He added, ‘Don’t take upon yourselves, except the deeds which are within your ability.” (Book #76, Hadith #472)
What he preached and practiced can be termed as Value- Kaizen.
For the Sufi Manager, the practice of Kaizen is essential as it provides both spiritual growth and business success. he helps eliminate or reduce wastes, promotes personal growth of employees and the company, provides guidance for employees, and serves as a barometer of leadership. Each Kaizen may be small, but the cumulative effect is tremendous.
